Terms of Service

Welcome to Vrooz, a peer-to-peer vehicle rental platform designed and operated by Trex Solutions (Pvt) Ltd. These Terms of Service govern your use of our website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
Important Notice: Vrooz operates as an intermediary platform connecting vehicle owners with renters. We do not own, operate, or maintain any vehicles listed on the platform. All rental agreements are between vehicle owners and renters, with Vrooz facilitating the connection and transaction.
1. Definitions
- "Platform" refers to the website, mobile application, and customer support services owned and operated by Trex Solutions (Pvt) Ltd
- "Vehicle Owner" or "Host" means the legal owner of the vehicles who list their vehicles for rental on the Platform
- "Renter" or "Guest" means the users of the Platform who rent vehicles from Vehicle Owners through the Platform
- "Vehicles" means the vehicles listed by Vehicle Owners on the Platform for rental by Renters
- "Self-Drive Rental" means rental where the Renter operates the vehicle themselves
- "With-Driver Rental" means rental where the Vehicle Owner or their designated driver operates the vehicle
- "We," "Us," or "Our" means Trex Solutions (Pvt) Ltd
- "You" means the Vehicle Owner or Renter as relevant
- "Service Fee" means the platform fee charged to Renters by Trex Solutions (Pvt) Ltd for facilitating rentals
- "Commission" means the percentage deducted from Vehicle Owner earnings for platform services
2. General Terms
Eligibility
To use the Platform, you must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts. Renters must possess a valid driver's license for Self-Drive Rentals. For With-Driver Rentals, the driver provided by the Vehicle Owner must possess a valid driver's license.
Account Registration
You must register and create an account to use certain features of the Platform. You must provide accurate, complete, and current information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and all activities that occur under your account.
Acceptance of Terms
By using the Platform, you agree to comply with these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations.
3. Terms for Renters (Guests)
Vehicle Rental Process
- Select a vehicle from available listings and choose between Self-Drive or With-Driver rental options
- Complete the booking process through the Platform
- Agree to the terms and conditions set by the Vehicle Owner
- Provide required documentation including valid driver's license (for Self-Drive rentals)
- Pay the Service Fee and rental charges plus security deposit through the Platform
Trip Management
- Present QR code to commence rental upon vehicle owner's verification
- Scan vehicle owner's QR code to conclude the rental
- Report any vehicle faults prior to commencing the trip
- Vehicle Unavailability: If the booked vehicle is unavailable, the Platform does not provide replacement vehicles. Renters may search for and book alternative vehicles available on the Platform. Refunds will be processed according to the cancellation policy.
Privacy and Information Sharing
Privacy Protection: To maintain the privacy of both vehicle owners and renters, exact location and contact details are shared 24 hours before trip commencement, after:
- Self-Drive Rentals: Security deposit payment is confirmed
- With-Driver Rentals: Advanced payment is confirmed
Basic profile information and in-platform messaging are available for confirmed bookings to facilitate coordination.
Return Policy
You must return the vehicle on time and to the specified location. Late returns incur additional charges. The security deposit may be applied towards late return fees or damages.
Payment Terms
- Vehicle rental fee and Service Fee must be paid at the time of booking
- Standard Bookings: Security deposit is automatically captured from your saved payment method 24 hours before the scheduled trip start time
- Instant Bookings (within 24 hours of trip start): Security deposit is captured immediately at the time of booking along with the rental fee
- Deposit Capture Retry: If the security deposit capture fails, the system will automatically retry every 1 hour until 6 hours before trip start
- Automatic Cancellation: If the security deposit cannot be captured by 6 hours before trip start, the booking will be automatically cancelled and treated as a guest no-show
- Payments are processed through secure payment methods
- Security deposit released within 3 working days after successful trip completion
- All payments must be made through the Vrooz platform - no off-platform payments are permitted
Vehicle Use and Safety
- Return vehicle in the same condition as received
- Perform routine vehicle checks (oil, water, tires, etc.)
- Comply with all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Report accidents and vehicle issues immediately
- Do not modify or damage the vehicle
Insurance and Liability
Platform Role: Vrooz operates as an intermediary platform and does not provide insurance coverage. The Platform is not responsible for any damages, accidents, injuries, or losses that occur during rental periods.
- Renters are fully responsible for the proper use of the vehicle during the rental period
- Vehicle Owners are responsible for ensuring their vehicles have appropriate insurance coverage
- Renters are responsible for any damages, fines, penalties, or losses arising during the rental period
- All incidents, accidents, or damages must be reported immediately to the relevant authorities, the Vehicle Owner, and Vrooz support
- Any disputes regarding damages or liability are to be resolved between the Renter and Vehicle Owner, with Vrooz providing dispute resolution support as outlined in these Terms
4. Terms for Vehicle Owners (Hosts)
Vehicle Listing Requirements
- Own the vehicle and have legal right to rent it
- Provide accurate vehicle information and pricing
- Maintain current registration, insurance, and emissions compliance
- Keep vehicle in good working condition
- You may add your own terms and conditions in the vehicle description
Vehicle Presentation
Ensure vehicles match listing descriptions and photographs. Clean and presentable vehicles must be provided. Vehicle Owners may be inspected and listings may be refused at our discretion.
Earnings and Payments
- Set your own rental pricing for both Self-Drive and With-Driver services
- The Platform collects rental payments from Renters on your behalf
- A commission is deducted from your earnings for platform services
- Service Fees are collected separately from Renters
- Earnings (minus commission) are released after successful trip completion and verification
- Security deposits are held until trip completion and vehicle inspection

Maintenance and Insurance
- Maintain up-to-date insurance coverage for your vehicle (third-party or comprehensive as per your preference)
- Ensure vehicle meets all safety and roadworthiness standards
- Keep revenue license, registration, and emissions test current and valid
- Perform regular maintenance to keep vehicles in good working condition
- Report vehicle unavailability promptly through the Platform
- For With-Driver services, ensure the designated driver has a valid license and appropriate qualifications
Vehicle Owner Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the condition and legal compliance of your vehicle
- You are responsible for verifying Renter credentials and vehicle condition before and after rentals
- You must handle insurance claims and vehicle repairs independently
- The Platform is not liable for any damages, losses, or disputes arising from your vehicle rentals
5. Platform Fees and Payments
Service Fees and Commission Structure
- Service Fees (Renters): Service Fees are charged to Renters for facilitating rentals and platform usage
- Commission (Vehicle Owners): A commission percentage is deducted from Vehicle Owner earnings for platform services
- Fees and commission rates vary by service type, rental duration, and location
- All fees and commission rates are clearly displayed before booking confirmation
- Service Fees are non-refundable except as specified in cancellation policies
- Commission is deducted automatically from Vehicle Owner payouts
Payment Processing
All payments must be processed through the Platform's secure third-party payment processors. Off-platform payments are strictly prohibited and may result in account termination. You agree to pay all applicable fees and charges.
Taxes
Vehicle Owners are responsible for any applicable taxes on earnings. Renters are responsible for any applicable taxes on rental transactions. Vrooz may collect and remit taxes where required by law.
6. Safety and Insurance
Vehicle Safety
- Vehicles must be roadworthy and legally registered
- All safety equipment must be functional
- Regular maintenance must be performed
- Safety recalls must be addressed
Insurance Requirements and Platform Disclaimer
Important: Vrooz does not provide any insurance coverage for vehicles, renters, or third parties. The Platform operates solely as an intermediary connecting vehicle owners and renters.
- Vehicle Owner Responsibility: Vehicle Owners must maintain up-to-date insurance coverage (third-party minimum, comprehensive recommended) for their vehicles
- Renter Option: Renters may obtain third-party insurance coverage at their own discretion and expense
- Platform Liability: Vrooz is not responsible for any damages, accidents, injuries, or losses during rental periods
- All insurance matters are the responsibility of the Vehicle Owner and Renter
- Insurance coverage must comply with local laws and regulations
Incident Reporting
All accidents, damages, or incidents must be reported immediately to:
- Relevant authorities (police, emergency services as applicable)
- The Vehicle Owner (if you are the Renter) or the Renter (if you are the Vehicle Owner)
- Vrooz support for documentation and dispute resolution assistance
Failure to report incidents may affect dispute resolution and may violate these Terms.
7. User Conduct and Prohibited Activities
Permitted Use
- Use the Platform for legitimate vehicle rental purposes
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Treat vehicles and other users with respect
- Maintain accurate and truthful information
Prohibited Activities
- Violate any laws or regulations
- Provide false or misleading information
- Engage in fraudulent activities
- Harass or discriminate against other users
- Use the Platform for commercial purposes without authorization
- Attempt to circumvent Platform fees
- Share account credentials
- Use rental agency information on the Platform, including but not limited to profile pictures, descriptions, or contact information
- Conduct any payment transactions outside of the Vrooz platform
8. Content and Intellectual Property
User Content
By posting content on the Platform, you grant Vrooz a license to use, display, and distribute such content in connection with the Services.
Platform Content
All Platform content is owned by Trex Solutions (Pvt) Ltd and protected by intellectual property laws. Unauthorized use is prohibited.
Watermarks and Images
Platform images may be watermarked. Users may not use watermarked images for unauthorized purposes.
9. Privacy and Data Protection
Information Collection
We collect information necessary to provide our Services, including personal information, vehicle data, and usage information.
Data Usage
Your information is used to facilitate rentals, improve services, ensure safety, and comply with legal requirements.

The Platform uses cookies to enhance user experience. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.
10. Disclaimers and Limitations
Platform Disclaimer
The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties. We do not guarantee availability, accuracy, or freedom from errors. Vrooz operates solely as an intermediary platform and does not own, operate, maintain, or insure any vehicles listed on the Platform.
No Liability for Vehicle Condition or Rental Transactions
Vrooz is not responsible for:
- The condition, safety, or roadworthiness of any vehicle listed on the Platform
- The accuracy of vehicle listings, descriptions, or photographs
- The conduct, identity verification, or qualifications of Vehicle Owners or Renters
- Any damages, accidents, injuries, or losses occurring during rental periods
- Insurance coverage or claims related to rental vehicles
- Disputes between Vehicle Owners and Renters (though we provide dispute resolution support)
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Vrooz's total liability is limited to the Service Fees or Commission paid for the specific transaction in question
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages
- We are not liable for any damages arising from vehicle use, accidents, or rental disputes
- Vehicle Owners and Renters assume all risks associated with peer-to-peer vehicle rentals
Third-Party Services
We are not responsible for third-party websites, services, payment processors, or content linked from our Platform. Use of third-party services is at your own risk.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Vrooz, Trex Solutions (Pvt) Ltd, and our affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or related to:
- Your use of the Platform or Services
- Your violation of these Terms of Service
- Your violation of any laws or regulations
- Any rental transaction, including vehicle condition, accidents, damages, or injuries
- Any dispute with other users of the Platform
- Your vehicle listings, rental activities, or conduct on the Platform
- Any insurance claims or coverage disputes
12. Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms of Service or other inappropriate conduct. You may also terminate your account at any time.
13. Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution
We encourage resolving disputes through direct communication and our support team.
Mediation
Disputes may be subject to mediation in accordance with Sri Lankan law.
Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
14. Changes to Terms of Service
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on the Platform with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms of Service.

16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms of Service is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Vrooz regarding the use of our Services.
